Frank McWeeny is one of those lucky people who discovered early what he liked doing then thought – why not? At 13 he was already presenting a radio show on French local radio, five years later – in 2008 – he arrived in London Town to learn and live his passion.

Since then, Frank created ‘French Toast’, a radio show focusing on groovy, deep and soulful electronic music from around the world. He has developed the brand internationally, going from university student radio in 2008 to radio stations worldwide today. Those stations include Hoxton Radio (UK), UDance (China), Block FM (Japan), Proton Radio (USA – San Francisco), Roundhouse Radio (UK), French Radio London (UK) and Radio Laser (France). Last year, Frank started a brand new Sunday evening radio show on UK’s most up cutting edge radio station and biggest supported of new and emerging artists: Amazing Radio. On this station, Frank keeps the same musical vibe but goes the extra mile, playing only unsigned artists or music from small and independent record labels.

Frank was given a gold award for Best Specialist Music Programming at the UK Student Radio Awards for his ‘French Toast’ show; and was nominated in as Rising Star at the UK’s most prestigious event in the radio calendar: the Radio Academy Awards. He has met and interviewed some most influential DJs and artists and has support from the likes of Annie Mac, Gilles Peterson, Rodriguez Jr., Marcus Marr, Maelstrom, Baxter Beez and River Nelson.

Frank also demonstrates his passion for music in the club, DJing in some of the best London venues like Koko and East Village. In 2011, Frank started ‘French Toast Party’, a monthly club night in various London locations (Kings Cross, Camden, Shoreditch) to showcase the music played on his show, and some of the DJs and producers he supports. 2013 saw the birth of ‘Where Is Brian?’, an original monthly party in Shoreditch with a Frenglish twist, only featuring French and English music. Frank recently started grooving up dance floors abroad in Ibiza and Berlin, and will be hitting hard in 2014 with trips planned to Reykjavik, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai and San Francisco.

Frank McWeeny has the authority to build exciting DJ sets and present forward thinking and upfront radio shows. At just 23, he is far from peaking!
